Executive Director Position Summary:
The Milk District, an Orlando Main Street district, is seeking an energetic, dynamic, creative, and organized individual to serve as full-time Executive Director of The Milk District Main Street District. This highly motivated successful candidate will be the central figure in assisting with the development and revitalization efforts in The Milk District Main Street District and will manage all aspects of the operations of the program. This includes community outreach, event planning, marketing, fundraising, business/membership development and day to day activities. The Executive Director will carry out the Board of Directors strategic goals for the program and will coordinate with the City of Orlando Main Street Administrator and other Orlando Main Street districts. The Executive Director will report to The Milk District Board of Directors. This is a full-time position and will require some after hour events and meetings. Salary range is $45,000 – $55,000. An incentive package may be available based on work performance per evaluation. Insurance and a work phone are included.

This Monday, The Milk District became the 10th district to join the Orlando Main Streets program after being approved for funding by Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer and the Orlando City Council. Tommy Barger, the owner of Space Bar and president of The Milk District Board, and Falon Quillen, owner of Etoile Boutique and the district’s promotion committee chair, offer insight into the Milk District’s history and how it will benefit from participating in the Orlando Main Streets program.
In 1925, a local Rollins College graduate by the name of Thomas Gilbert Lee decided to go into the dairy business. He purchased some land on the corner of Bumby Avenue and Colonial Drive to build his pasture.
