Orlando Main Streets is proud to officially welcome the addition of Curry Ford West Market Street to our program! To help residents learn more about the district, we’ve enlisted Curry Ford West board members Ben Kuykendall and Val Vazquez to tell Orlando just how much the new district has to offer.
Curry Ford West… We’ve got a lot, from pizza to clocks!
The District with the most…
Pizza joints! Whether you want a neo-neapolitan pie from Bruno’s or classic delivery like Papa John’s or Little Caesars, or maybe a good ole NYC slice at Luigi’s or King’s Pizza…Curry Ford West is where you’ll want to come for your pizza!
Already had pizza?
Then join us for breakfast or brunch at Keke’s or the family owned Daybreak Diner! If you’re in the mood for another part of the world then come visit Claddagh Cottage for an authentic Irish Pub where you can sign up for a dart competition; JJ’s Fusion Grille, Zaza’s, Cafe Madrid, or La Fiesta for delicious Latin plates, pastries, and margaritas! Want a Gyro? Pho? We’ve got those (however you like to pronounce them) Check out Theo’s Kitchen or Pho & Roll!
Need to work out first?
Get your yoga on at Live Oak or the Peaceful Peacock, where you may even find yourself in class with an adoptable pup or kitten! Prefer weights over zen? Sign up at Core and More fitness where you can get serious lifting done or have a trainer show you how to do it right. Maybe you want a 3 a.m. workout, Anytime Fitness has their doors open 24/7!
Let us get you a drink
What’s better than having a great beer? Having one at a pub that is recognized for its community involvement, just like Roque Pub! Enjoy as much as you want because it helps the neighborhood! Do you like to see your beer made instead? Walk next door to Ocean Sun Brewery and taste the freshly made variety of deliciousness. If you want to make your own beer and wine then go down a few blocks and talk with Orlando Homebrew Supplies and they’ll set you up with equipment and classes!
A timely shop
Been looking to repair a family timepiece? Swiss House has the knowledge and skills to bring back any clock back to life and if you can’t carry that Grandfather clock to the shop then you can schedule an appointment for a home visit! They have the time!
See what Exploris Academy has to offer for your little one’s developing years! They have a unique curriculum that is centered around each individual’s needs. After a good day of learning reward them with Twistee Treat where they can eat ice cream served out of a giant ice cream cone or Kelly’s Homemade Ice Cream to enjoy a treat under the lights. Then, to work off the sugar, drop them off at Real Life Church to play open gym basketball every Tuesday or dodgeball every Wednesday!
But first, coffee
No matter how you take your coffee, you’re guaranteed to find a favorite spot somewhere in the district. Whether you prefer it strong and black (Daybreak Diner), sweet, with lots of milk and a kick (Zaza), cold-brewed, French pressed or poured over (Foxtail), or infused with sweet cream and local honey (around the corner at Aardvark Beverage) there’s no shortage of options for getting your caffeine fix!
Take a lakeside stroll
The wide paths at Lake Underhill Park are perfect for a bike, wagon or stroller ride with the family and the banks along the shore were made for enjoying the sunrise or sunset, feeding the ducks and fishing. And, you can always run the 1.5 mile loop and stop at the fitness stations along the way. The quieter Lake Como Park offers a more tranquil experience, and a great lion statue. Up your game at either by packing a picnic from Clemons Produce, spreading out a blanket and enjoying a lazy afternoon.
You may be surprised to learn that the most common type of business in our district isn’t a restaurant, bar or brewery, it’s hair and nail salons! When it’s time for some you time, there are over twenty choices for everything from manicures and pedicures to haircuts, massages and just about any other way you can think to treat yourself. In particular, the staff at Thy Crown and Glory Salon take an extra measure of care with each guest and proudly use top tier organic products from Aveda.
We’re not a blank canvas, but we have room..
One of the beauties of Curry Ford West is we have a strong heritage; some of our neighborhoods have been part of Orlando’s DNA for a century, but we are tapping into something that our Curry Ford community hasn’t experienced yet..a flourishing town center. We have deep roots, but we also have a vision of the future. We’d love for you to check out what’s already happening, but we also want you to be a part of the story by adding your own touch.
